BISHOP JETTIE & MARY ANN TAYLOR

In 1966, the Holy Ghost moved upon Brother Taylor and called him to preach.  In August 1966, he preached his very first sermon in Seattle, Washington.

The Taylors then moved back to Aurora, Illinois and united with Progressive Baptist Church from 1966-1969, where late Reverend Robert Wesby was pastor.  They later joined the Greater Mount Olive Church of God in Christ between, 1969-1971, under the leadership of Bishop William Haven Bonner.

On June 20, 1971, Elder Jettie Taylor, Jr. had to answer his true call.  He had to Pastor.  He opened up a church under the name The Original Temple of God for All Nations Church.  Services began in Nancy Hill Elementary School.  The group stayed there from 1971-1972.  The church was growing.  The congregation moved to the Young Men Christian Association (YMCA) located at 460 Garfield Ave., Aurora, IL in 1972.

Then one day, Pastor saw a little building at 141 North State Street in Aurora.  The ministry bought the building in 1975.  They served there from 1975-1980.

As the congregation expanded, they sought out another sanctuary at 402 Sherman Avenue in Aurora.  They purchased it and moved in.  The Temple of God really grew.

In 1987, Bishop Taylor and the church family joined the Four Square Gospel Organization.  They served ten years and decided to leave Four Square.  The property remained with the organization.  The departure did not stop the congregation.

Between1997-1998, the church family went to Temple Hill Plaza and held services.  Then, to Cowherd Middle School from 1998-1999 and to Johnson Middle School from 1999-2000.  Finally, Pastor saw a breakthrough in 2000.  The Original Temple of God purchased our current home at 626 North Root Street in Aurora.

Bishop Jettie & Mother Mary Ann are home with our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.  We love them and miss them greatly.

We thank God for their lives and we hope to see them when we all are united with Christ.
