Our church is a welcoming space for all people looking for a place to worship, learn and grow in their faith. ABOUT OUR PASTOR
Edward Lee Phillips, Jr., born on September 12, 1963 to the late Edward Lee Phillips, Sr. and the late Mae Rean Mosby Phillips Malone. He is the 2nd oldest of four children. Mae Robbie Richmond, Maurice Phillips, Deborah Phillips Gulledge. He was born in Marshall County, Mississippi, and raised in Laws Hills and Holly Springs Mississippi.

Pastor Eddie “Buck” and Lady Stephanie met in 1982. He was a senior in high school and she was a freshman.
Pastor Eddie “Buck” moved to Aurora, Illinois in 1987. There were some hurricanes and tornadoes, but they weathered the storm. Lady Stephanie and their oldest son Jaumaurice, moved to Aurora in December 1991. Pastor Eddie “Buck” and Lady Stephanie were united in Holy Matrimony in March of 1992, by the late Great Bishop Jettie Taylor, Jr. Pastor Eddie “Buck”, Lady Stephanie and family have attended The Original Temple of God Church for 30+ years. They have a blended family of four children. Three boys; Jaumaurice, Jamaureo, Demone and one daughter Bianca. Pastor Eddie “Buck” and Lady Stephanie have played an intricate part in so many young adult lives. Specifically, Marvin aka Von Dowdy. The baby brother of Lady Stephanie. Pastor Eddie “Buck” also raised Devyne Zollicoffer as his own. They have been blessed with five grandchildren, grandson; Jauvarie Viera Quartez, who is living life with Jesus in heaven, four beautiful granddaughters; Meaghan Marie, Morghan Christina, Maddyson Monet, and Journey Brielle. The Phillips lived in Aurora for approximately 8 years and have lived in Sugar Grove since 2011. Pastor Eddie “Buck” announced his calling at the The Original Temple of God Church under the leadership and teaching of Bishop Jettie Taylor, Jr. His first sermon was March 7, 2004. While being side by side with Bishop for encouragement, knowledge, and all teaching that Bishop Jettie Taylor had to offer until Bishop’s health failed him. He is forever grateful for and to Bishop Taylor. Pastor Eddie “Buck” other spiritual mentors include Pastor Mae Lee Palmer (Bountiful Blessings Ministries) and Pastor Rondais Cox (Mt. Peel M. B. Church) who ordained him in August of 2018.
